Good food, planned simply.

BeBetterHuman is the small company behind Chef Nils and Arete. It started from one idea: the right food, prepared simply, beats any plan you have to think hard about at every meal. Chef Nils is that idea turned into software — a weekly menu shaped by your preferences and allergies, linked straight to the recipe and the shopping list.

Approach

Food first, rules second

Most eating plans fail because they ask people to think harder at every meal. We build around three things that hold up over years, not weeks.

Whole ingredients, not protocols

No shakes, no phases, no supplement stack to manage. Just meals built from real food.

Built around your allergies

Menus are planned around the allergens you set: dishes that list them are left out before the menu is written. Always check the labels yourself.

Repeatable, not perfect

A menu you'll actually cook again next week beats a spectacular one you only cook once.

Chef Nils

The practice, as software

Chef Nils carries this approach into a normal week. Set your preferences and allergies once. Get a weekly menu built from a working recipe library, organized by cuisine and course. Every dish on the menu links straight to its shopping list, so there is nothing to copy out by hand.

It's the same way Nils has planned for guests and crews at sea for ten years, running in your pocket instead of a notebook.

The Arete Project

Same practice, for the rest of the day

Food is one part of it. Arete is a lifestyle, health and mind app built around a single calendar — one day page for training, journaling and reflection, instead of three separate habit trackers fighting for your attention.

An hour-by-hour view holds what you planned next to what you actually did. A structured training program sits alongside it, from a 20-minute rotation on a busy day to a full session with nothing else on the calendar.
